Growing our bench of experts

For years, employee well-being initiatives were viewed as largely a cost-benefit equation. Companies knew that if employees were healthy, health care costs should go down. But now, attitudes about well-being are changing and employers of all sizes realize that there’s more to wellness than ROI.

Employers and well-being professionals increasingly understand the value of looking beyond the physical markers of health such as fitness and nutrition to focus on the whole person and all elements of well-being, such as social connectedness, financial wellness, professional development, purpose and fun.

For example, helping employees avoid lost work time by offering flu shots is a basic strategy that most people expect. But what about the employee who is secretly stressed and distracted at work because of financial or caregiving challenges? And what about the employee who is struggling to stay engaged with their work and family while living with depression or anxiety? Or consider the employee who leaves a high-paying corporate job to become more involved in their personal passion. These are very real examples of opportunities to influence workplace well-being.

To ensure that our team at Alyfe Wellbeing Strategies is successful in our quest to create workplaces that help people live life “all in,” I’m proud to announce that we have expanded our bench of experts to include some folks who have firsthand experience designing and implementing well-being strategies that drive meaningful results for organizations and individuals. We’re beyond excited about what these people bring to our team and how they will influence the well-being solutions we deliver.
